FAQ

As easy as we aim to make things, we understand that you may have additional questions! This is why we have prepared a list of the most frequently asked questions. Can’t find what you’re looking for? We’re happy to hear from you!

What are the benefits of milling underfloor heating?

Milling the floor for installation provides many advantages, such as rapid heating times as the conduits rest directly under the surface, no added floor height and no need to remove existing screed.

Does underfloor heating cause heat loss when milled in?

As heat rises, the generated warmth always permeates the floor. Additionally, there is air underneath each conduit in the milled channels. Stagnant air is the best isolation material!

Which floors can be milled with the underfloor heating milling machine?

All cementitious floors can be milled, including tile floors, concrete surfaces and screed. We have 230V machines for cement screed floors and 400V machines for all floor types.

Is screed required after milling?

No! The floor of your choice can be installed directly on top of the sealed conduits.

Equipment

What should I do if my underfloor heating milling machine is broken?

We can repair the milling machine if you would like. You are welcome to stop by our workshop in Tilburg. We also have a “butler service” (fees apply) for the collection or on-site repair of your machine if you are running short on time. We can also support you with videos demonstrating how the components can be replaced. We can ship the required materials to you, these often arrive the following business day (international shipping takes a bit more time).

What happens to the dust during milling?

The dust is collected by a cyclone vacuum with an M-class or H-class filter. Install a pre-separator between the milling machine and the vacuum for even cleaner results and to reduce damage to the fragile components of your vacuum cleaner by 80%.

How do I determine which diamond tuck point I need for a certain job?

Initially, we will tell you exactly which diamond tuck point you require. We have the best diamond cutting blades for your machine as these are specially designed for your equipment. If you want to work like a true pro, we also sell a concrete hardness meter. With this calibrated tool, you can measure the hardness of the floor so that you can determine exactly which Floor iQ tuck point is best for the job.
