The IQ in FloorIQ:
Experts in the best tools for milling floors since 2008.
We are FloorIQ. We provide professionals with the best tools for processing floors. We develop, manufacture and supply milling machines and a variety of diamond tools.
We know everything there is to know about our products – we design them. When developing products, we use our practical knowledge of concrete processing and listen carefully to our customers. We are the place to go for milling machines and diamond tools. We have the know-how and offer the best products for floor processing.
Curious about the IQ in FloorIQ? Check out our timeline to see what has been making our hearts beat faster for flooring since 2008.
Before 2008
Floor without the IQ.
The time before FloorIQ was characterised by dusty pictures of people on their knees with chisels and handheld milling machines, digging trenches to install heating pipes. The amount of dust, noise and inconvenience (for both the customer and the professional) was huge.
Based on our own experience and knowledge, as well as the needs of professionals, we began to work on ideas for a new concept for milling underfloor heating.
2008
Start manufacturing.
FloorIQ began designing, manufacturing and selling machines that allows for milling underfloor heating while standing (rather than on your knees). The idea was to create a machine that would allow you to mill in underfloor heating in a less labour-intensive way that was responsible from a health and safety standpoint. The standard 230V and 400V floor heating milling machines were the first milling machines on the market.
2009
Improve diamond tools.
We continued to develop the diamond milling blade – also of our making – which allows you to make bends while milling in the floor. As the construction of floors continues to change, so do our diamond tools. We constantly improve them.
2010
Light floor heating milling machine.
We received many enquiries about whether we could also supply a lighter floor heating milling machine for, for example, storey floors. In response to that demand, we added the light floor heating milling machine in 230V and 400V to our range. This machine is similar to our standard milling machine in terms of motor power, but is very light and easy to handle.
2011
Birth of the semi-self-propelled floor heating milling machine.
As the government started to promote low-temperature heating due to its greater efficiency, more and more companies began to specialise in milling underfloor heating. This gave rise to the demand to develop a model floor heating milling machine that could provide assistance in pushing the milling machine. With this, the semi-self-propelled floor heating milling machine was born. This milling machine, also developed by us, offers increased comfort by helping to push the machine.
2012
The E3 and E4 floor heating milling machine.
As floors became increasingly hard and customers also wanted to mill through existing floors (and particularly tiled floors), we developed a more powerful power milling machine in 2012: the E3 and E4 floor heating milling machine.
2013
Extending our product range.
Following the development of the semi-self-propelled machine and the more powerful floor heating milling machine, we continued to think about and work on extending our range.
As well as focusing on the underfloor heating milling machines, we also devoted our time to the equally important dust extraction. It turned out that not every industrial (and handy!) vacuum cleaner could cope with the many kilos of dust generated in a short space of time during the milling of underfloor heating.
Based on our many years of knowledge and experience, we chose two suitable partners for dust extraction. To reduce the load on the vacuum cleaner’s filter, we also developed a pre-separator. The pre-separator catches around 75% of the dust and also protects the filter from sparks caused by hitting a metal pipe, for example.
2014
The very first fermacell routing blade.
New developments took place in the construction industry: gypsum fibreboards can now be laid on wooden floors, after which slots can be cut for the installation of underfloor heating. Diamond cannot cut slots in fibreboards, so we came up with a new solution: the very first fermacell routing blade: the vermicelli!
2015
The fully self-propelled milling machine: the D4.0
Underfloor heating was increasingly being considered for renovation projects. Not only in the private sector, but also in larger business premises, for example. Commercial premises usually have a concrete floor instead of a screed. To make milling easier, we were the first in the market to develop a fully self-propelled milling machine: the D4.0. The machine is heavy and powerful, self-propelled, yet manageable and manoeuvrable, making it suitable for larger as well as smaller areas, such as private homes.
2016
Our diamond range therefore underwent further development and adjustment.
A good machine needs good tools. That is why, in addition to the machines, we also thought about high-quality tools that will extend the life of the machines and make the work easier. Our diamond range therefore underwent further development and adjustment. Flooring continues to evolve and we believe there is always room for improvement. Because our team works so intensively with the diamond milling blades, the blades were all given a name: Origin®, Misty®, Sunshine®, Fire® and Thunder®.
2017
New office opened for sales and service.
In addition to the factory in Tilburg, a sales and service office was opened in Burgh-Haamstede.
FloorIQ’s brand awareness extended beyond the Netherlands. Throughout Europe and beyond, FloorIQ is known as the specialist in underfloor heating milling machines and diamond tools. In 2017, we started shipping milling machines abroad. We did not foresee that by 2024, we would be conducting 50% of our business in the Netherlands and 50% abroad.
2018
New website.
The new website was launched. Now with an even greater focus on local and international customers, explaining the now renowned FloorIQ concept for dust-free milling of underfloor heating – often in 1 day.
2020
Own personalised service page.
The misty diamond milling blade was modified, making our customers even happier as speed and longevity were improved. And, with every new milling machine purchased, customers now received their personalised service page with all the details of their new floor heating milling machine.
2021
Over 10 years supplier to rental companies.
2021 marked our 10-year anniversary as a supplier of floor heating milling machines to major rental companies. They too increasingly offer the machines throughout Europe.
2023
Greatly expansion diamond tools.
FloorIQ greatly expanded its own range of diamond tools and also specialises more in diamond tools for floor sanding. We also introduced high quality blades for the Diamag and Slidemag systems.
2024
The fully self-propelled D5.5.
We have been working on it behind the scenes for a while, and now it’s finally here! We have yet again developed a handy floor heating milling machine, but now with a super powerful 5.5kW motor. The machine is fully self-propelled and manoeuvrable, and its power makes it even faster than the D4.0. The D5.5 is equipped with the latest technology, making the professional’s job easier.
We are also developing new types of milling blades for plaster fibre bound floors (Fermacell). We now have 3 different types for making slots in these floors.
To make it easier for our customers, we are adding a web shop to the current website. In our web shop, you can view our product range and order products at your convenience, 24/7. This is very convenient for our customers, but we would be even happier to hear (or see) you in Burgh, to help you make your business a success!
